One of the side benefits of astronomy in my opinion is definitely the opportunity to visit many amazing places all around the world. Here are some highlights from the work trips I took in the past couple of years.
The beautiful view of Florence from the Arcetry observatory - June 2022
The Specola tower in summer during the EAS week in Padova, Italy - July 2024
Winter wonderland in Sexten - January 2025
Pretty leaves and crazy humidity at the Leiden botanical graden - January 2023
The best kind of after work in Nice - September 2023
On the way to the top of the Aiguille du Midi during the Les Houches Winter School with Lara, Alice, and Jenny - February 2024
A selection of the definitely not work-related hobbies I enjoy the most :)
I am a passionate crafter and I have a particular inclination for everything textile-related. I especially enjoy crocheting, knitting and sewing, which I think reach their full joyful potential when shared. In this picture, the awesome ESO crochet club on Secret Santa day in 2022.
I spent countless summers in my childhood and as a teenager in the beautiful italian Alps, so I'm very happy whenever I get the chance to go hiking. The picture above is from summer 2024, deep in the Swedish Lapland on the Kungsleden trail, hands down one of the best experiences of my life.
